Coach Swain’s Lady Cats softball team defeated Bartlesville twice to advance to the regional championship game against Owasso on Wednesday, but due to heavy rains, the game will now be played on Thursday night at 6 pm. In the first game of the day, Ponca City got a one run win 4-3 to advance to the winner’s bracket. Because there are only three teams in the regional, PC had to face the number one seed Owasso who had a bye first round. They were defeated 16-0. That meant that the Lady Cats would once again square off with Bartlesville in an elimination game and Ponca City was once again up to the challenge, winning game 3 by the final of 8-5. With that win, Ponca City will get another chance at Owasso at noon on Wednesday.  The game will also be broadcast on 1580 Triple Play Sports radio with Scott Miller and Jordan Woodruff on the call.
