After defeating Enid in game one of the Region 5 tournament in Enid, and then dropping a game to Tulsa Union, the Wildcats will have to win two today (Friday) to advance to the state tournament. Ponca City will once again play at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid against Union at 4 pm. Union defeated Enid in the nightcap last night, which means Ponca City will have to beat Union twice today to advance. Because of OSSAA pitch count rules, the Wildcats will be without the services of Aaron Hosack, Carson Shook and Eli Wohl on the mound today. Tanner Denton also pitched yesterday, but did not reach the 35 pitch count meaning he can throw again today. The Wildcats’ matchup with Union can be heard again today on 1580 AM Triple Play sports radio with pregame around 3:50.
