On senior night the Ponca City Varsity softball team struggled offensively against Stillwater sophomore pitcher Lauren McLaughlin. The Wildcats got five hits on the night, but could never push a runner past home losing 13-0 in 6 innings. The Pioneers had two big innings in the 4th and 5th and hit 3 HR’s in the game. The lone senior for the Wildcats, Bailey Johnson had the only extra base hit for the Wildcats with a double in the 4th. After the game, the Wildcats honored the 4 yr softball player Johnson, with a short ceremony on the field as she was joined by her parents on the mound. Even though things didn’t work out the way the Wildcats had hoped, it was still a good night and great crowd to celebrate the Sr. Bailey Johnson. The Wildcats get back on the field Tuesday night against Pawhuska and then finish a game that was postponed against Sapulpa on Thursday night. That game will resume play in the 5th inning.
