The Ponca City Wildcats had a tough weekend on the baseball diamond going 0-3 against Guthrie, Stillwater, and Norman.
On Thursday, the Wildcats were shutout 4-0 against Guthrie. Evan Kowalski was credited with the victory for Guthrie. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out eight and walking zero. Tanner Denton took the loss for the Wildcats. He allowed four hits and four runs over six innings, striking out six.
On Friday, Ponca City would strike first with a Tanner Denton home run, but it would be the only run of the day in a 7-1 loss to Stillwater. Eli Johnson pitched Stillwater to victory. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out two and walking one. Eli Wohl took the loss for the Wildcats. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Cody Ryan led the Wildcats going 2-3 from the plate.
On Saturday, it was another tough day at the plate as the Wildcats fell 11-1 against Norman. In the bottom of the second, the Wildcats down one tied the score with a Will Wyatt RBI single, but Norman pulled away in the 3rd, scoring 3-runs. They would add five insurance runs in the 6th. Aaron Hosack took the loss surrendering six runs on 11 hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking zero.
