The Ponca City Wildcats’ coaching search has ended, with the hiring of Scott Harmon. Just two seasons ago, Harmon coached his Alma Mater Hominy Bucks to a Class A state football championship. Harmon, led the Bucks to an undefeated 14-0 record and was named Tulsa World’s state football coach of the year in 2016, before stepping down to focus on administrative duties. In 15 seasons of coaching, Harmon has amassed a 127-57 record, going 27-11 in the playoffs. Before coaching Hominy for 10 years, he guided Pawnee to a Class A title in 2004. Harmon was also successful on the field, playing defensive back at Oklahoma State from 91-94 and tied for the Big 8 lead in interceptions with six during the 1991 campaign.
